A Bolond és a Király

Létezni a világban két fő állapot szerint lehetséges. Hagyhatod, hogy a világ megtörténjen veled, és nyitott, befogadó, de tisztán irányított lényként követheted örömeit és tragédiáit. Vagy a kezedbe veheted a dolgokat, és vágyaid szerint megváltoztathatod a körülötted lévő világot. Aktív leszel, de mégis az ösztönök vezérelnek. Mindkét útnak megvan a maga szépsége és fájdalma, és mindkettő a feje tetejére állhat. Hiszem, hogy mindannyiunkban ott van a Bolond és a Király.

Sok válságot érezhetünk magunk körül, ami árapályként jön és megy. Néha az apokalipszis messze van, aztán úgy tűnik, közeledik. Jelen és valóság. A végzet…például hol vannak a legyek? Mostanában szinte egyetlen legyet sem láttam. Szóval, mit tegyek? Ha Király leszek, megmondom. Ha Bolond leszek, mást fogok mondani.

The Fool and the King in this world

There are two major states of how to be in this world. You can let the world happen to you and follow along in its joy and tragedy as an open, receptive but purley driven being. Or you can grab things in your hand and change the world around you, according to your desires. You will be active, but nonetheless driven by instinct. Both ways have their beauty and pain and both can turn up side down.

I believe we all have our fool and king within us and it leads us to… ? We can feel many crisis around us coming and going like the tide.Sometimes the apocalypse is far away, then it seems to come close. Present and real. Doom.
…like where are all the flies? I haven’t seen almost any fly these days. So, what to do about it?

Julija Pečnikar: Softwareness

A Softwareness egy sci-fi táncelőadás, amely a felhőben való élet gondolatából indult ki. A felhő egy virtuális világ – mint például az iCloud internetes tárhely. Ennek a térnek a logikája érdekel minket, és az, hogy működése hogyan befolyásolja a tánc strukturálásának logikáját. A felhőben minden csak információ.

A művészeti folyamat során a művészeket a következő kérdések foglalkoztatják: milyen lenne, ha egy virtuális térbe, mint médiumba töltenénk fel? Mi történik a testtel, miközben az elme beágyazódik egy virtuális térbe? Mi történhetne, ha az érzékeinket és a tudatunkat feltöltenénk ebbe a térbe? Kiderülne, hogy ez valami teljesen elidegenedett, a lényeget figyelmen kívül hagyó dolog, vagy tanulhatnánk ebből a tapasztalatból? Milyen módon tudunk úgy mozogni, ami csupán információ? Milyen mozgáselveket eredményeznek az ilyen módozatok?

A táncosok teljes fizikai elkötelezettségük ellenére csak információként vannak jelen a térben, nem foglalkoznak mással, mint magával az adattal, de nem a triviális, kiszámítható emberi adattal, hanem magáról a formáról és a létezésről szóló nyers adattal. Egymásnak érintéseken át adnak információkat. Egyik rendszerből a másikba, egyik testből a másikba. A felhőben lévő funkciók által inspirálva a test, a tánc és a koreográfia másfajta megközelítését fedezik fel. Elveszítik a megszokott idő- és térérzéküket, hogy egyszerűen csak létezni kezdenek ebben az új virtualitásban.

A projekt jelentős mértékben reflektál a materiális és a virtuális együttélésére, és így lehetővé teszi a közönség számára, hogy a jelenlegi trendekre tekintsen és reflektáljon.

Softwareness is a sci-fi dance performance based on the idea of living in the cloud. The cloud is a virtual storage space – e.g. iCloud. We are interested in the logic of this space, and how its operation affects the logic of structuring dance. In the cloud, everything is just information.

Throughout the artistic process, the artists are engaged with the questions: what would it be like to be uploaded into a virtual space as a medium? What happens to the body while the mind is embedded in a virtual space? What could happen if our senses and consciousness were uploaded into this space? Would this turn out to be something completely alienated, something that ignores the essence, or could we learn from this experience? In what way can we perform a dance that is merely information? What principles of movement do such modes produce?

Despite the dancers’s total physical commitment, they are only information and are not concerned with anything other than information itself, but not trivial information that can be calculated, but information about form or existence itself. They also focus on information transmitted through touch. From one system to another, from one body to another. Inspired by the functions in the cloud, they discover a different approach to the body, dance and choreography. They lose the usual sense of time and space, in order to just dance in a virtual…

The project reflects significantly on the coexistence of the material and the virtual, and thus allows the audience to look and reflect in the current situation.
